CoffeeBreak Diaries

Who we are?

about us

We are Tanu and Maddy, both engineers by profession, but travel enthusiast, adventure seeker, fitness lover and coffee geek by passion. When we are not developing softwares or implementing strategies at work, you will find us packing our bags to travel someplace, or planning a trip over a cup of coffee in a nearby café.

We dream of travelling the world. While both our 9 to 5 jobs are quite consuming, we manage to find our escapades here and there, with a series of tiny, short or long trips throughout the year – an inevitable strategy to break the monotony, and preserve the ounces of sanity. We both despise convention. Our blog is a renaissance that goes against the age old notion of ‘Quit your job to travel the World’. We firmly believe that you can travel with elan and grace, if you wish so, while being fully committed to your profession. We have been living this concept for quite some time and this blog is our space to pen down our experiences from that we have gathered from around the world, through our eyes.

Thrilled, Elated, Exhilarated, Appreciative and Gratefulness – a cornucopia of such emotions engulf us when we travel; and there is not a tiny bit of exaggeration here. Be it spending the day reading a book on the Beaches of Mauritius, meeting the underwater marvels during our scuba-dive, jumping from an airplane on a skydiving venture or simply watching the sunset in each other’s company – we believe in taking cartloads of such memory from the global platter and leaving our footprints behind in the places we visit. Put simply, we travel not to escape life but for life to not escape us in this lifetime.

Tanu

I envision the world as a colourful palate, with a variety of streaks based on the mood and place. I also believe that you have to do your bit to fit in this visual marvel that the world is and hence it is important that you choose your style accordingly. I would like to describe my style as chic, casual, colourful and comfy with a quirky edge. Offlate, I am fascinated by the bohemian fashion. . .I have been experimenting with a mixed bag of ethnic-urban amalgamation and eclectic clashes of colours, materials and accessories. I also have the good fortune of being the muse most of the times during our travels as my partner is mostly behind the lens.

I hold a soft spot for offbeat, romantic getaways. I love reconnecting with nature, understanding the local culture and trying the local cuisines of a place. Someday, I would love to make it to Norway and experience the spectacular marvels of “Northern Lights” (Aurora Borealis).

Maddy

“A mind that is stretched by new experiences can never go back to its old dimensions” – as much as I love soaking in new experiences, I also love creating an album of such memories so that we can turn to those pages anytime we want. I mostly stay behind the lens. The thrill of meandering down hidden alleys, spending hours at a recluse spot, staring at the stars on a starry night are second to none. I love taking the road less taken. And  I love capturing raw emotions around me, and the plethora of sights that our travel diaries offer with my photography gear.

I am an ardent adventure seeker. Sky-Diving, Bungee Jumping, Scuba-Diving, Para-Sailing, White water rafting, Trekking the Himalayas are some ticks from my bucket.

The Coffee Connection

We both are a connoisseur of third wave coffee. The purveyor of great coffee that we are, we could spend hours hunting the perfect coffee shop with the perfect coffee in a new place. Its no wonder that we have visited almost all the coffee joint in our city, but we often frequent the coffee shop just opposite to our place. We have planned all our trips sitting in some cosy café sipping coffee. Even the blueprint of this blog, is a result of one such coffee outing. Hence no other name would have done justice to our space, “coffeebreakdiaries.com” just blends perfectly into everything that our blog is.

So, stop waiting till 60 to enjoy your life. Stop worrying about the potholes in the road. Hold our hands, make plans and enjoy the journey!

           Loads of Love,
